"So, why did you move here?" is a question I am often asked.

Although I was born and raised in Southern California, I had an itch at an early age to live in my true spiritual home, the upper Midwest of the USA.

There are seasons here, and sometimes we experience more than one per day. Actual seasons lend a sense of urgency to living, always preparing for the coming changes. We garden, we cook; we spend time outside whenever we can, as the opportunity to be outside here is precious and fleeting. Too hot, too cold, too humid, too windy – it’s always something here on the prairie, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I recently relocated to a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. We are surrounded by lakes, streams and rivers and every day is a new experience. Our apartment looks out on a small lake, and we are awakened each day by the sounds of bird calls.

I brought my three children to Minnesota when they were very young, and they have thanked me for it. You can’t expect much more than that when you uproot your kids and set them down 2500 miles east where they don’t know anyone. It made us closer as a family, and I have never regretted the decision. In recent years we have added three grandchildren to our tribe. It is a great place to raise a family.

I am happy to have this website to show my art to family and friends. Watercolor was my medium initially, and I have now expanded into oils, acrylics, collage, and mixed media. My new studio space is much smaller than my previous ones, but it works just fine for me. I was able to give away many art supplies when I figured out which ones I really wanted to use. When we locked down after 2020 for the pandemic, I retired and decided to devote my studio - and my life - to creating art. The paintings I made before 2020 are called "Early Works." That is the year that my life, my vision, and my influences truly expanded. I no longer actively sell my paintings, but if you see something you really like, please let me know. I may still have it or could have a print made for you.
